FISCAL TOOLS

PROVIDER COST OF QUALITY CALCULATOR

The Provider Cost of Quality Calculator, or PCQC, is provided by the U.S. Office of Child Care to estimate the cost of child care in a center or family-home that meets different quality standards.

WHERE DOES YOUR CHILD CARE DOLLAR GO?

This tool from the Center for American Progress was developed to help increase understanding of why child care costs what it does, when teachers make so little. The interactive includes state defaults and users can modify 8 different quality elements.

THE COST OF CHILD CARE DURING THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

Child care providers face significant additional costs providing care during the COVID-19 pandemic. This tool from the Center for American Progress lets users estimate the fiscal impact of the necessary health and safety requirements related to operating during the pandemic.

COST OF PRESCHOOL QUALITY & REVENUE CALCULATOR

The CPQ&R is an Excel-based tool to help users determine costs and funding sources related to implementing high-quality preschool programs. Developed by CEELO, the CPQ&R can inform funding allocations by estimating costs of expansion and quality enhancements to identify trade-offs on quality and access associated with different pre-K policy options.

STAFFED FAMILY CHILD CARE NETWORK COST ESTIMATION TOOL

The Family Child Care Network Cost Estimation Tool (CET) is designed to assist State, regional and local organizations in better understanding the costs associated with operating a staffed family child care network. The CET can be used to estimate the operating costs for states and communities for services offered by a staffed FCC network.
