There are multiple opportunities to engage in the California Alternative Methodology project and ensure that your voice is included as part of this transformational change. This page includes details about the online survey and virtual input sessions that P5 is facilitating throughout the Summer and Fall of 2023.
In addition, P5 is working closely with groups around the state to identify additional opportunities to give input while minimizing the burden on providers.
Provider Survey
All early care and education providers, including child care and development centers, family child care homes, tribal programs, and license-exempt family, friend, or neighbor care providers, are invited to complete an online survey to provide input into the cost study and the cost estimation model. The survey is available in multiple languages and should take no more than 20-30 minutes to complete.

Input Sessions
We are hosting a series of virtual input sessions to gather information directly from child care providers across the state. These input sessions provide an opportunity to share your experience delivering early care and education services, beyond the information gathered through the online survey. Questions will focus on program operations and expenses and the true costs of providing care.
Sessions are scheduled in English and Spanish. Additional language can be accommodated as needed. You only need to attend one session, but you must register in advance. Click the link below to see the schedule and register for an input session.
Input Sessions Complete
Incentive
Everyone completing a survey and/or participating in an input session or interview will be entered into a raffle. Each month, around 300 participants will be randomly selected. Awardees will be sent a unique code to choose from a selection of early childhood materials from Kaplan Early Learning Company, valued at approximately $100.

In addition, all participants will be provided with a discount code to use at Kaplan Early Learning Company.
